Dr. Peyman Faratin has been an active researcher in Computer Science and Business Schools for the past twenty years, with specialization in technologies and architectures, economics and regulation of converged IP (layer 3) and Internet application (layer 7) networks and services. Prior to joining MyStrands, he worked for eight years as a research scientist at MIT’s Computer Science and AI Lab (at the Advanced Network Architectures group), developing intelligent AI and market mechanisms for management and provisioning of IP and 802.11 networks, as well as building economic models of Internet’s IP and (P2P-propriety) overlay infrastructures.
Dr. Faratin has over fifty publications in international peer reviewed journals, conferences and workshops and has regularly served on governmental and academic panels and committees on technology and economics and holds a number of patents. He is currently an affiliate of MIT’s Advanced Network Architectures group at CSAIL, Internet and Telecommunication Convergence (ITC) and Communication Futures Program (CFP) consortia at MIT.
