A very productive and absolutely crazy week! 3GSM is a fantastic opportunity to meet vis-a-vis, and put a face to the person behind all those emails and conference calls. With the Congress being so immense, it just might be that the best opportunities to spend quality time with people take place outside the Congress itself, during the parties and evening events which can last late into the night.

No doubt the best event this week was Mobile Monday Global Peer Awards 2007. Impeccably organized by Rudy de Waele, Caroline Lewko from the Wireless Industry Partnership did an excellent job as the master of ceremony keeping us intrigued with stories of buxom blondes and modest redheads… Winners: Plazes, RealEyes3D and MobileComplete, all quite impressive stuff.

Tuesday was yet another a busy day. Swedish Beers at Belchica, with Helen Keegan, a fantastic person to bring other people together.

After finishing up with our Swedish Beers session, we were off to the Ericsson party, The Sensation Lounge at Catwalk, a trendy and upscale multi-sensory venue at the nightlife hub by the marina. I lost count at 1200 people. As part of the sensual experience, partyStrands was showcased on the 6 flat screens throughout the venue for added partygoers’ enjoyment.

On Wednesday, we kicked it up a notch at the MTV midnight party at Bar 13 in the stunning Plaza Real. T stands for Thursday and Tapas at the Cerveseria d’Or and fancy girlie drinks at Hotel Ohm. And as if we weren’t in denial of the wonder years gone by, we headed over to Mojito Bar for some mojitos…lots of them.

In a nutshell, the 3GSM Congress and events were downright intense. But since these 55,000 attendees work hard and play hard, it was a productive 3GSM and tons of fun. We met some really great people! Have a safe trip back.
